*Ingredients:*  

- 1 cup yellow moong dal (split yellow mung beans)  
- 1 green chili, chopped (optional)  
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated  
- 1 small onion, finely chopped  
- A handful of fresh coriander leaves, chopped  
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds  
- Salt to taste  
- Water (to make batter)  
- Oil for cooking

*Preparation Steps:*  

1. *Soak the moong dal:
Wash and soak the moong dal in water for at least 3-4 hours or overnight.  

2. *Make the batter:*
 Drain the soaked dal and grind it in a blender with green chili and ginger, adding water little by little to get a smooth, pouring consistency batter.  

3. *Add veggies & spices:* 
Transfer the batter to a bowl, add chopped onion, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, and salt. Mix well.

4. *Cook the cheela:* 
Heat a non-stick pan or tawa. Pour a ladle of batter and spread it in a circular motion to make a thin pancake. Drizzle a little oil around the edges and cook on medium flame till golden brown. Flip and cook the other side similarly.  

5. *Serve:* 
Serve hot with green chutney, yogurt, or pickle.
